Kagome Higurashi’s Mix Tape

Kagome Higurashi’s Mix Tape

If you’re participating in The Nerdy Girlie’s 5 Fandom Friday, you may have noticed a few of us have made some DLC’s (downloadable content) to complement the already lengthy blog prompt list courtesy of The Nerdy Girlie and Super Space Chick. You can check out my first DLC for 5 Fandom Friday: the GG Pack (the Geeky Gal Pack)!

Among all of the prompts listed, I really loved the idea of creating a playlist for character. You may have seen Padme’s playlist and Asuna’s playlist. Of course, I can’t just pick one character, so we’re back with another playlist for one of my first favorite anime characters: Kagome Higurashi of InuYasha.

Anime Challenge Day 13: Who is your favorite anime couple?

Anime Challenge Day 13: Who is your favorite anime couple?

I may have made some of these questions too hard for myself! I already talked about how much Asuna and Kirito’s relationship reminds me of my husband and me, but there’s anime couple I loved before them, one that kept me hanging on every week hoping they would finally get their act together and just be together! InuYasha and Kagome are my OG favorite anime couple.

I posted about InuYasha being one of my gateway fandoms:

Late one night, I couldn’t sleep and ended up watching InuYasha. I’m sure everyone is inwardly groaning right now, but just wait a second. I loved the story, the fighting, the good versus evil, the powerful stories behind the characters. Sango quickly became my favorite, with Kagome as a close second. These girls were strong, young, and smart.

Becoming a mega-fan of InuYasha turned out to be a great thing for me. When I changed schools in seventh grade, I found myself without any friends. I was brand new, and a lot of these kids knew each other from elementary school. I felt alone. I couldn’t bring myself to talk to anyone. After a few months with no friends still, I saw a girl sporting an InuYasha t-shirt. With all the courage I had in my introverted heart, I told her I liked her shirt. I made ten friends that day, all so close and dear to me still.

One of the main draws of this anime was the incredible love story unfolding between InuYasha and Kagome. A long game of “will they/won’t they” kept me tuning in every week and hoping they would finally be together. Between love triangles, timelines, and flat out denial of feelings, I hoped with every episode they would finally confess their feelings for each other.

And then (spoiler!) they finally did.

Maybe InuYasha and Kagome aren’t the best anime couple, but they are my favorite. They were the main reason I tuned in every week and even the reason I started watching subs! They opened a lot of doors for me, and I may not have come up with this challenge if it weren’t for InuYasha being my first anime.

Anime Challenge Day 2: Who was your first anime crush?

Anime Challenge Day 2: Who was your first anime crush?

My first anime crush is my forever anime crush: InuYasha.

InuYasha was the first anime I became obsessed with. Literally obsessed. I religiously stayed up once a week on school nights to catch the newest episode. I wrote fanfictions. I watched AMVs (anime music videos). I bought plushies, DVDs, and games. I was even a part of an InuYasha fan club in middle school in which we all were characters in the show. Take a wild guess in the comments which character I was. Go ahead. The winner gets a shout out on Twitter.

5 Fandom Friday: Fandoms That Made Me Who I Am

5 Fandom Friday: Fandoms That Made Me Who I Am

I’ve recently discovered the Nerdy Girlie, and she’s amazing. She has what she and Super Space Chick call 5 Fandom Friday. It’s open to bloggers to participate! As I’ve been uninspired lately and exhausted from making a long, long move across a few states and starting a new job, I decided to give this a shot!

Spoilers! The Geek Behind the Keyboard

Spoilers! The Geek Behind the Keyboard

Hi there, and welcome to my little corner of the internet. I recently moved my blog from Blogger to WordPress. This was my little introductory blog. I thought I’d post it for the new readers as well as edit it and add a little bit of new stuff for my ole’ faithful readers!

A little about me:

  • My name is Megan. I’m 21, and I like to think I’m pretty normal.
  • I am from/live in Alabama in a small town. I work as a graphic designer in a “big” city and go to school full time for Game Art. It sounds like I’m really busy, and 99.9% of the time I am. Luckily I graduate soon.
  • I have a dog named Padme.
  • I tend to be weird, nerdy, silly, and shy (unless I know you then most likely you already find me not-so-shy).
  • Hobbies: gaming, reading, writing, drawing, listening, watching Netflix, pinning my imaginary life on Pinterest (come on, who doesn’t?), being awesome, etc.
