Heather at Just Geeking By has created wonderful and unique prompts for Sundays! There are a few other sites out there who post weekly prompts, but I have to say Heather’s are by far some of the most unique and imaginative that I’ve read. I’m really excited to make Seriously Geeky Sundays a staple here on the blog! See the prompts here!
I’m super excited to be the first host of Seriously Geek Sundays! Heather has graciously let me pick an August topic, and if you read the title, you already know it’s ANIMATION! Heather says that there are so many different types of animation out there now and each of us have our own favorites and memories associated to them. This week we’re picking your brain about the animated world.
Today’s 5FF isn’t listed on the latest GG Packs or on the original list, but I felt like it would fit in well with 5 Fandom Friday and this month’s theme anyway! I’ve gushed about some of my favorite freaky webtoons as well as some of my overall favorites so far. This special edition of 5FF is all about K-Pop, K-Drama, and Korean inspired comics!
Most K-Pop isn’t open about mental health, mental illness, or personal struggles, and that’s where BTS is different. One of the biggest reasons I love BTS is their incredible lyrics that touch on aspects of mental health and mental illness. Their music videos speak volumes even with a language barrier. Their canon Webtoon, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.0: Save Me, dives into the mental health of their alter egos as well and lends a hand to their narrative of healing, loving yourself, and moving forward.
Today I wanted to share some of my favorite lyrics from BTS’s songs that have been healing for me. Whether I was deep in depression on these days or just needing a little reminder that I’m going to be okay, BTS was able to touch my heart, and I hope that some of these songs and lyrics can help you as well.
While I’m still really sad about not being able to attend BTS’s concert due to COVID19, I thought today would be a good time to share ten of my most streamed BTS songs! I gathered these from Spotify and Spotify.me (most known for giving a year-end review of your streamed music for 2019). I don’t really have a way of putting these in a true top 10 order so consider that these BTS songs are in no particular order.
I’ve been focusing on my health journey for over 3 years now. It’s a lifelong commitment, one that has been difficult, but rewarding. It was hard to get over the numbers on the scale and focus on my health instead of how small I could be. Working out with a personal trainer for over a year gave me confidence in the gym and the knowledge of how to work out safely, when and how to push myself, and helped me improve my relationship with food.
I’ve had to find ways that keep my accountable and excited to keep on this journey. One of those ways has been music. On the days I saw my trainer, I’d rock out on the way to the gym or listen to music while getting in a ten minute warm up. When I was on my own, I found it was best to create playlists so I didn’t have to stop what I was doing to find the next song to keep me on track.
