The Geeky Childhood Tag (+ tags)

The Geeky Childhood Tag (+ tags)

Michelle at A Geek Girl’s Guide came up with this nostalgic tag. You can check out her post here! With Thanksgiving coming up in a few weeks, I’ve been missing my family down in Alabama. This tag seemed perfect to look back on some fond memories. Thanks for coming up with this tag, Michelle!

ChildhoodTag

Where did your geek come from? Parents? Siblings? Destiny? My mom has told me that I get a lot of it from her which I believe! She introduced me to video games and has always supported me being a geek! That includes going into Hot Topic to find me InuYasha shirts, hunting down anime movies, and (sometimes obscure) video games.

The First Geeky Thing You Got Into – Reading! I may have gotten my first game at six-years-old, but I really got into reading during that time, too. Harry Potter really helped my love of reading blossom. Being able to visit Harry Potter World in Orlando as an adult was an amazing treat, and I can’t wait to go back.

Favorite TV Show as a Kid – I used to watch a ton of Digimon and Pokemon as a kid. We lived out in the country and didn’t really have many channels on cable, but we did get Digimon on Saturday mornings! Gatomon quickly became my favorite. She is such a cutie!

Favorite Movie as a Kid – Hands down, it’s gotta be Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. My cousins and I were all about some Power Rangers and I literally wore out the VHS tape for this movie. Not only did I wear out the VHS tape, but I also went as the pink ranger two Halloween’s in a row. I was mildly obsessed.

Favorite Video Game as a Kid – If I was playing solo, I preferred Spyro the Dragon. If I was playing with cousins, I really liked 007: Nightfire for the Gamecube. It was one of the more fun multiplayer games we played at sleep overs that featured female playable characters that were badass.

Favorite Book as a Kid – Any book from Shel Silverstein. I have always loved poetry and enjoyed expressing myself through it. My mom bought me several of Silverstein’s books, but most of you have probably heard of Where the Sidewalk Ends. Fantastic books for all ages in my opinion.

Favorite Memory as a Kid – Pretty much any family holiday get together is a favorite memory of mine. My mom’s family has always been close so seeing my cousins for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas felt like a big party every year. There was always good food but there was also a lot of story-telling and laughs.

A Character You Looked Up To as a Kid – Hermione Granger. We’re both nerds when it comes to school and homework, but Hermione was so smart, brave, and took no bullshit. I wanted to be just like her.

A Character That Scared You as a Kid – Pretty much every bad guy from Courage the Cowardly Dog terrified me. Some notable ones that I still think about: Freaky Fred, King Ramses, and Katz. *shivers*

Back to Hogwarts Tag (+ tags)

Back to Hogwarts Tag (+ tags)

Heather at Just Geeking By recently tagged me in this amazing Harry Potter tag that was originally created by Michelle at A Geek Girl’s Guide. Thanks so much Heather! You can check out her answers and tags here! Let’s get to the questions, shall we?

HogwartsTag.jpg

Questions:

Have to go shopping in Diagon Alley! What store do you go to first? Ollivanders would absolutely be my first stop! On our honeymoon, Alec and I went straight to Ollivanders (after getting breakfast, of course) to get our interactive wands! We picked out our own, but it would be amazing to see them picked out for us like in the movies.

You’re on the train! What are you getting from the trolley? Most definitely a Chocolate Frog! We brought a couple back from Harry Potter World, and they were really good! also, can I just say the train ride at Harry Potter World was so cool? Loved it!

It’s time for the welcome feast! Which house table are you at? I’m a Ravenclaw, so I’m definitely going to be sitting with my housemates! Hopefully there’s a few INFJ‘s who are down to eat together.

You get an elective this year! What will it be? It’s gotta be Care of Magical Creatures. Hagrid would easily be one of my favorite teachers, and I adore animals. Would I be any good at it? Maybe the textbook part. I can see myself struggling with the hands on aspect though, especially if there’s any creepy crawlies that need care.

You’ve got a break between classes! What will you be doing? Cracking open a well worn copy of my favorite book… or if electronics are allowed, checking on my Animal Crossing town! Electronics like consoles, computers, and cellphones would definitely make the world of Harry Potter really interesting.

You get to go to Hogsmeade this year! Where do you go first? Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop with Alec. I love small, romantic locations, and being there with Alec would be the icing on the cake… I honestly can’t wait for us to go back to Ireland because everything there felt incredibly cozy and romantic.

You’re meeting up with friends to hang out! Where in the castle are you all going to chill? Most likely the girls’ dorms in Ravenclaw! The artwork of the dorm rooms is positively dreamy. What a cool place to hang out and talk! And, you know, study.

The end of year exams are coming up. What test will you do the best at? Charms and History of Magic would definitely be my strong suits! I retain information easily so those classes I would most likely breeze through. Anything hands-on, like flying, I’d be barely passable at!

My Nominations:

Jaycee @ Thinking Moon

Meagan @ Quibbles & Scribbles

Princess Deia

Amanda @ Imaginating Life

Are you ready to get back to Hogwarts? Tell me in the comments how ready you are to return to Hogwarts!
