The Kore Wa Watashi Award (+ tags)

In September, A Geeky Gal was nominated for The Kore Wa Watashi Award by Pinkie at Pinkie’s Paradise! Pinkie is back again with another original award! If you just happen to not know who Pinkie is, be prepared to meet the kindest and most entertaining blogger who writes about her love of Pokemon and other geeky things like video games and anime. Thanks again Pinkie for the nomination and for creating this award! It’s very much appreciated!

The Rules:

  • The Purpose of this tag is very simple! Describe yourself through anime! To do this you will answer all of the questions below!
  • After this is done you will tag 6 people to pass the tag onto! If you’re tagged for a second time you only have to tag 3 in your next post and 1 on your third attempt and should you so choose beyond. Tell us why you nominated these people!
  • People who ask to be tagged should be added to your tag list with a link to their blog!
  • Tell something nice about them as well.
  • Remember to have fun with the tag and be proud of who you are, you are an amazing person and the fact that so many anime and anime characters share traits with you shows you are pretty breathtaking!

The Questions:

Describe a hobby or passion you have through an anime series! For example Shokugeki no Soma if you like cooking or Initial D if you like cars.

Sword Art Online is probably as close as it gets to an anime series that has a heavy focus on gaming (they’re in a virtual world after all)! While I may not be jumping in headgear for a VR session like Kirito and Asuna, I do enjoy playing games on the PlayStation, Switch, and PC. My favorite type of games aren’t the MMO types either, at least not that much anymore. I did enjoy Runescape once upon a time but now I prefer the gentle world of Animal Crossing and the Sims 4, RPG’s like Kingdom Hearts, and horror games like Haunting Ground.

Simplify yourself to an Anime Archetype (Tsundere, Dojiko, Shota, Shounen-Protagonist etc)  don’t overthink what an archetype is, go with your gut. Name a character that is also that Archetype.

I’m a Tsundere, and while there a lot of Tsundere characters out there, the first one that popped into my head was Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket. A Tsundere archetype is usually classified as a character that usually appears hot and cold, possibly short-tempered, but becomes more warm and soft over time and/or is soft on the inside. You may be wondering why in the world I chose Tsundere as my Anime Archetype, and the truth is despite my online persona, I am very much like Tsundere in person. I love to be sarcastic and even a bit mean (though it’s always done out of love and fun). I like to tease people to keep them honest. My husband likes to say that I “bully” him, but I promise it’s all in good fun between us. *winks*

Describe your looks through comparing it with anime characters, you can decide how many!

I had the hardest time with this question, and even turned to Twitter to see if anyone knew if there were some chubby characters that were cute (because unfortunately a lot of anime often depicts characters with larger bodies as ugly or undesirable – which is a topic for another day). I was only able to find a few and all of them were from anime that I didn’t recognize or have any familiarity with. This is Yukino Itou from Real Drive, and I think she represents my body type the best.

I added some fanart of Serena from Pokemon X and Y to represent my hair, hair color, and eye color. I also dig her collared top and sneakers paired with a skirt so maybe she can represent my taste in fashion as well!

Describe your romantic bias and or sexuality through anime characters you find attractive.

Erza (Fairy Tail), Sebastian (Black Butler), Takeo Gouda (My Love Story), Haruhi Fujioka (OHSHC), Kelechi (Adorned by Chi)

Tell us about your day to day life and what anime that would fit into! You can be creative here!

My day to day life is really boring in my opinion haha! Especially during this pandemic. I go to work Monday through Friday (from home) where I work on 3D models and do some graphic design. I also supervise the art department which can be a lot of work. On the weekends, you can find me playing video games, ready, and walking our dog, Padme. I think Aggretsuko may fit this lifestyle even though I’m only familiar with the general synopsis! I guess I should really watch more anime that involves more adult like activities…

Describe your hopes and dreams through an anime character.

I will yet again be using an unfamiliar anime for one of Pinkie’s questions! (I really should expand my horizons more!) I haven’t told most people that my dream is to make a romance visual novel. I have always wanted to make video games which is why I got my degree in Game Art and am currently a 3D modeler who works on simulations (sounds fancier than I personally think it is, but that always raises eyebrows). But my heart has always been with brilliant 2D, story-driven visual novels. So I have chosen Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata (Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend) to reflect this dream. The synopsis seems to fit my dream pretty nicely.

My Nominations:

Pete @ MoeGamer

Megan @ Nerd Rambles

Annie @ Evening Tea Musings

Ashley @ The Review Heap

Claddily @ Meriendeato

  1. These are some pretty great choices! I had totally expected Asuna to be mentioned here!

I recently saw Nanana’s burried treasure and I think you are a bit like her as well. . with hunting for those nice decorations in your house and little things here and there.. she is treasure hunter who died and became a ghost that now is stuck in a house and plays loads and loads of video games. Eating only pudding (that last part might not fit) she is quite sporty but stuck at her place and has loads of magical things!

As for chubby characters, a few come to mind.. such as Chocho from Boruto but yeah the character from real Drive.. like the one you shared are all much more normal body figures.

I did not know about your dream but that is a good one! I haven’t seen the anime but now I might go check it out! So that is the great thing about the tag.. sure we all name a few really big ones but that one small one will sneak in and we will all look it up and see more anime! And get to know each other better!

    Thanks for taking part!

      1. I told you.. each Hiatus I will make sure you need to come back by making a new tag for your collection xD

I also wanted to balance the ones that just make you answer each others questions with a few different ones. So I am happy to make them! 🙂
