Day 29 – How has the Harry Potter series influenced your life?

I know I’ve shared the above Instagram post already, but I think it perfectly illustrates how much Harry Potter has been woven into my life. It all started with a trip to the school library, then I fell head over heels for reading. I read everything I could get my hands on, but mostly fiction books drenched in fantasy and adventure. Next came an obsession with vampires and romance. Then I focused on series with fantastical creatures, supernatural entities and the paranormal. I solely credit my love for reading to Harry Potter.

Other than my love for reading, Harry Potter has intertwined itself in my life other ways. I enjoy knowing others’ Hogwarts Houses; I love to receive HP style gifts for Christmas. It was a dream to visit Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and I was able to make that come true during my honeymoon. I sought out and purchased the matching tees you see above from Etsy because I wanted that moment to be framed in my heart (and on my wall) forever. Harry Potter has become a big part of my life and will most definitely continue to be.

  1. Harry Potter got me into reading again and even though that passion has since dried up again I don’t think I would have been writing without that reading adventure way back when. Seeing so many potter-heads also really awoken that sense of finding my community as well !
