Day 17 – History of Magic: Who is your favorite Hogwarts ghost?
Unfortunately, the Harry Potter movie series doesn’t dive as deep into the ghosts of Hogwarts like the books do. Some of the most notable ghosts you may remember are Nearly Headless Nick (the Gryffindor House Ghost), The Bloody Baron (the Slytherin House Ghost), The Grey Lady (the Ravenclaw House Ghost), The Fat Friar (the Hufflepuff House Ghost), and Moaning Myrtle, the Ravenclaw student ghost who hangs out in the first floor girls’ bathroom.
If I had to pick one, it has to be Moaning Myrtle. While Moaning Myrtle may have been one of the more annoying ghosts with her shrill voice, whining, and constantly wailing, you can’t say she’s not iconic. I mean, everyone thought Myrtle was Daniel Radcliff in a wig and if that doesn’t make you snort-laugh then we can’t be friends. Also, her spying on Harry into the prefects’ bathroom during in Goblet of Fire? Two words: creepy and confident.
In the History of Magic class, we’re discussing the ghosts of Hogwarts! Feel free to tell us what ghost is your favorite in the comments below OR take on the challenge yourself and link back to this post so I can see your answer!
