Seriously Geeky Sundays: Kings & Queens

Heather at Just Geeking By has created wonderful and unique prompts for Sundays! There are a few other sites out there who post weekly prompts, but I have to say Heather’s are by far some of the most unique and imaginative that I’ve read. I’m really excited to make Seriously Geeky Sundays a staple here on the blog! See the prompts here!

Today’s prompt is about Kings and Queens. Heather says for today’s prompt that Grace Kelly married the Prince of Monaco on this day in 1956 which merged the worlds of Hollywood and royalty. I love fictional and non-fictional royal families so I’m really stoked to answers this week’s questions!

Who is your favorite female royal character?

Rapunzel is my favorite Disney Princess! Alec and I got to meet her when we went to Disney for our honeymoon last year. Gosh, it feel like forever! I can’t wait to go back. Honorable mention: Padme Amidala!

Who is your favorite male royal character?

With all of this new time on my hands thanks to self isolation, I have finally picked up the comics I got for Christmas: Avatar: the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Prince Zuko in the animated Avatar series goes through quite the character arc and becomes one of the my favorite characters in the series. It’s incredible to see him again in the comics and makes me remember why I fell in love with the series in the first place.

Who is your favorite royal couple?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will forever be my favorite non-fictional royal couple. Just like other members of the royal family, they’ve had quite a bit of drama surrounding them but they are both incredibly kind and selfless people.

What is your favorite storyline involving a royal character?

Frozen is probably not the answer you were expecting here but honestly it has an A+ storyline. Elsa was actually meant to be  a villian until ‘Let It Go’ was penned. It’s amazing how a single song changed the entire course of the movie. I loved every minute of the movies and still listen to the soundtrack today to lift my spirits.

If you could live in any fictional royal residence, which one would it be?

Honestly, absolutely, 100% Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World.

The main character of the last fandom you experienced just became King/Queen of their universe; how do they react?

Alec and I have been watching (re-watching for him) Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. Honestly it’d be hilarious to see Rodney McKay declared King. His ego would be ginormous but he’d also be freaking out about having to actually solve so many problems in the universe (I mean, he’s already doing it most of the time ha!).

Please go check out Heather’s geeky Sunday prompts! You can see the introductory post here! What are some of your favorite royal families, fictional and/or real?

  1. Your Stargate answer really made me chuckle, hehee! I get why Elsa had a chip on her shoulder for a time and felt alienated and then scared again (of her own powers). I’m glad they gave her character more dimensions than if she’d turned bitter and cynical.

  2. I’m now giggling and cringing at the thought of Rodney as king! Oh dear god, I’m not sure if that would be awesome to watch or just so bad. I also never knew that about Frozen! I’m not surprised about the power of song though; that has been one of Disney’s motto’s from the very beginning and it’s really fitting that it spilled off screen to change the writer’s minds about Elsa. So very meta, I love it.

    1. Right?! I’d still watch it, and it’ll either be hilarious or it’ll go down in flames. 😂

I believe that I heard that on the behind the scenes of the soundtrack. It’s been awhile so I could definitely be wrong about where I heard it. 😅 It’s amazing how one song altered an entire movie.
