What is the first book you ever remember buying? Harry Potter. I can’t remember which one it was but I remember I had read all the ones that were available at my school’s library. The next one I was supposed to read was checked out so I asked my mom to take me to the book store so I could get it. I needed to know what was going to happen next!
Have you ever read any book that changed the way you see yourself or how you see the world? If so what book and why? I actually read a lot of triggering books as a teen that changed the way I saw myself, everyone around me, and the world. The first one that I can recall that go me into finding books that would question everything about myself and simultaneously make me snot-cry was Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.
What is your favourite food to snack on while reading? Chips are too messy but I used to eat them while reading anyway when I was younger. Now I prefer to have something warm to drink like tea or hot chocolate.
What is your favourite thing about book blogging or blogging in general? I wish I did more book blogging honestly. I hit a patch in my life that was quite a few years long where I just didn’t love anything I was reading. I even did Owl Crate for a few months to try to get back into it but only managed to finish one of the books. I’m avoiding the question hah! Anyway, I love the community that blogging has built for me.
What is your favourite ever quote from a book and why that quote?
Dumbledore had some of the best quotes that stuck with me. I feel like this quote applies to me daily as I make the decision over and over to do things that are right for me like eating better, exercising, writing, etc.
If you could only ever read books by one author for the rest of your life, what author would that be? P.C. Cast + Kristin Cast. I really enjoy the way they write and have loved every novel I’ve read by them so far. The House of Night series introduced me to this writing duo and I recently started listening to The Escaped series which I really need to finish!
What is your favourite genre to read? Romance/Drama but I also love Fantasy.
What is your least favourite genre to read? Non-Fiction.
If you could have any super-power for a day what would you choose? The ability to learns skills really quickly! I’d love to learn another language, hone my graphic design skills more, learn web design, etc.
Have you ever bought a book based on its cover alone? If so what was the book and what about the cover drew you in? Yes! All the time! I picked up The Immortal Instruments because I thought the cover was pretty cool.
Do you prefer books that make you laugh or books that make you cry? Explain why so. Both, but if I had to pick one… it’d have to be ‘cry.’ Crying feels like a release of sorts. It’s almost like I have permission to cry if I’ve been holding it in for whatever reason. I hope that makes sense.
