5FF: 2020 Fandom Resolutions

If you’re participating in The Nerdy Girlie’s 5 Fandom Friday, you may have noticed a few of us have made some DLC’s (downloadable content) to complement the already lengthy blog prompt list courtesy of The Nerdy Girlie and Super Space Chick. You can check out my first DLC for 5 Fandom Friday at the GG Pack (the Geeky Gal Pack) and my second DLC here at  GG2 Pack!

Sartorial Geek recently partnered up with The Nerdy Girlie and Super Space Chick to bring back 5 Fandom Friday! You can see all the prompts for 2020 here! I am personally ecstatic to see geeky prompts make a comeback. I’m a bit late in joining, but I’m sure no one will mind! In honor of the new year, I’d like to present my fandom resolutions for 2020!

Go to a Geeky Gathering

The past few years I made the resolution to attend a convention, but due to circumstances, I haven’t been able to always accomplish this goal. This year I’d like to make it a bit easier by saying “geeky gathering” which includes conventions, brunches, meet ups, shows, hobby shops, etc. Living in STL definitely makes this goal a bit easier. Stay tuned for a 5FF post on geeky things to do in STL!

Run a D&D or Pathfinder Campaign

I started playing D&D last year with a group of friends. Our campaign dissolved unfortunately, but another group of friends started up a Pathfinder campaign that has been really fun! The hardest part is definitely getting everyone together. With this in mind, I really want to try  to GM one shot campaign that we can finish in one night! I love to write and already have a few ideas in mind…

Read the Avatar, Korra & Fable Comics

A couple Christmases ago, I was gifted a couple of compilations for the Fable comics. I am a huge fan of Wolf Among Us and was really excited to get such a fantastic gift. I only managed to read the first compilation and that was on the plane to and from our Disney honeymoon in January 2019! This past Christmas, I was gifted two compilations of Avatar: the Last Airbender series which takes place after the show as well as what I believe to be the complete compilation of Legend of Korra which also takes place after the show. My goal this year is to finish four of these compilations of comics! I really want to read more as a way to relax and practice self care.

Catch Up on My Backlog of Video Games

Due to my mental health over the last couple of years, I have started several games I was initially excited for that I never picked up again. This includes God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Kingdom Hearts III. I am happy to say that I am almost done replaying the Kingdom Hearts series in preparation of Kingdom Hearts III. There’s more games on this list, but I would love to finish KH and God of War this year.

Geekify My Fitness/Health Routine

I have been really focusing on my physical health since 2017, but I am hitting my personal goals hard in 2020. I have milestones I have been trying to reach for two years now, and I think finding ways to make it more fun and geeky will be an extra push. I’ve started wearing my favorite geeky tees, created a playlist inspired by Captain Marvel (hello, 90’s), and even started a group with fellow blogger Sarah of Geeks Who Eat called Geeky Gals Getting Healthy, but I want to do more! Maybe doing some “inspired by” workouts or participating in a virtual runDisney 5K?

  1. All of the comics you mentioned are really good. One of the things I like about the Korra ones is that they continue Korra and Asami’s relationship and talk about being LGBTQ in that world, especially for Korra since she’s the Avatar. I hope you like them and good luck with everything 🙂

    1. I’ve started on Korra and am really excited to see where it goes. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read it yet but I’m already seeing where they are tackling LGBTQ issues and I’m excited to see how the writers handle it!
