Sunshine Blogger Award (+ tags)

Another special blog award! I have to admit, every blog award I get makes me feel so good about this blog, like I’m on the right path. Special thank you to Merlin at Merlin’s Musings! They nominated me a couple of weeks ago for the Sunshine Blogger Award. For great posts on anime, books, and games, be sure to check out Merlin’s Musings! Thanks again for the nomination, Merlin! On to the questions…

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Who is your favorite celebrity crush, real or fictitious? By all means, include a picture. ๐Ÿ˜‰ David Tennant will always be my #1 celebrity crush. I adored him as the Tenth Doctor and continue to be amazed with each role he takes on. Good Omens is on my list right now, and if you haven’t watched it yet, Broadchurch and GracePoint is freaking amazing.

What would your Patronus/spirit animal be? I would like to think it would be a fox, but it’d more than likely would be an anxious bunny or a stressed out panda!

If you suddenly had superpowers, what would they be (you can pick up to three of them) and what would be a practical day job to use them in? I really enjoyed answering this in my 30 Day Geek Out Challenge for Day 14. A practical day job for being an earth bender would beย  military/police officer, gardener, or maybe a non-for profit home builder for those without homes!

Be it the Shire or the Federation of Planets, storytellers tend to make up some society which is their ideal. Mine is an extended clan of half-demons who prioritize honor, compassion, freedom, and strength. What would yours be? This is such a good question, and I’m not sure how to answer it. Maybe I can come back to it one day. I will say though that my ideal society would have more emphasis and understanding of our mental health.

You are captain of a starship that has discovered a habitable planet. What did you name your ship, and what would you name this planet? I am Captain of the starship Rising, and my crew and I have discovered a habitable planet in the milky way! I am hereby declaring this planet… Gaia, the Greek goddess of earth.

You can visit three worlds from anime/books/TV/etc., for twenty-four hours each. Which ones do you visit and what do you do while there? Definitely visiting Harry Potter‘s world and having myself a butter beer. I’d also ride the train to Hogwarts, take a transfiguration class, and shop at Diagon Alley! The next world would be Star Trek, and I would definitely try a meal from the food replicator and visit a friendly planet. Lastly, I’d love to visit the world of Sword Art Online but without the psycho killers please. Just amazing VR video games in Japan is all I’d like.

What is a book, comic/manga, or game youโ€™d love to see in a cinematic form? Or the other way around, what is a movie, TV show, or cartoon/anime youโ€™d love to read in written form? I finally started on the Fables comics after falling in love with Wolf Among Us and think it’d be amazing in cinematic form.I’ve just started watching the latest remake of Fruits Basket, and while it already had a manga, I really want to pick it up and get really into the stories behind each member of the zodiac!

What is your favorite color? Black.

Your favorite supernatural creature is real. What is it, and can humanity coexist with it? If vampires were real, I’m not entirely sure how humanity would coexist with them. I guess it depends on what kind of vampires we get: the bloodthirsty monster kind, the special school with tattoos kind, or the sparkly kind? (Bonus points if you know where my examples came from; let me know your guesses in the comments.)

What would love to get for Christmas, or a birthday? Christmas and my birthday are both right around the corner! I already gave Santa my list, but I would definitely love to get a new necklace to wear every day. I used to have some go-to jewelry, but overtime I’ve grown out of it. I’m looking for something more minimal now.

What are your most and least favorite parts about blogging? Most favorite part of blogging: writing about my life. Least favorite part of blogging: keeping up with all forms of social media. My Instagram for the blog is lacking, but I can’t seem to get back on track with it.

My Questions:

  • What are 3 interesting facts about yourself?
  • Where would you like to be in 10 years?
  • What are your goals for the next month?
  • How has your blog changed since it was first created?
  • If someone wanted to understand you, what game would they play?
  • What is your favorite video game quote?
  • What game are you most looking forward to?
  • What game are you currently playing?
  • If your favorite character had a modern song as their theme, what song would it be?
  • What is one thing you want to change about your blog?
  • What blog posts do you read the most?

My Nominations:

Tcrow @ Crow’s World of anime

Omar @ Pete’s Corner

McKenna Talks About Games

Ellen @ Livid Lightening

Around the Bonfire

With Love, Caroline

Thero @ A Reluctant Hero

Jessica @ Chasing the Four Winds

Amanda @ If there’s a haunted house in it I’ll read it

  1. Congrats on the award, Megan! I also think a Fables movie or TV series would be interesting from what I’ve seen of that graphic novel series, but I feel like some people would say “NO! That’s a Once Upon a Time ripoff!” even though Fables came first. I’ll also spare an obvious joke involving things like a certain anime that existed before Disney tried similar stories.

      1. You’re certainly welcome.

Sure. I think it could work, but it would definitely be an adult series on AMC or HBO. The latter would be the most likely since Warner Bros. owns that channel as well as Vertigo (DC’s mature comic subsidiary) that published Fables.

  2. Woo! Go Megan! I would politely suggest that if you loved the word of Harry Potter, I think I should recommend you check out the Harry Dresden Files. I don’t know when you read that series but as an older person now, I find that series touches the same beats just for an older and more mature audience.

And earth bending is the most legit bending there is. Period… (Shots not fired, lol

    Congratulations on the award!

  3. Nifty answers, I’m glad I tagged you. ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m hoping to read the answer to that revisited question sometime. ๐Ÿ˜‰
And I had no idea what the tattoo-school thing was until you mentioned it and I googled it. Huh, cool. ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. Thank you so much for the nomination! I’ll add it to the ol’ To Do list (Disclaimer: I’m notoriously slow at responding to these but looking forward to it, haha).

Also, black is my second favourite colour ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. You’re a David Tenant fan? Cool!
I’m re-reading the Harry Potter series, so your answer to which world you’d visit resonated. Star Trek, too. I have really high hopes for Star Trek Picard…
Thanks for the nomination! You’ve asked some really interesting questions. I hope I can do them justice!

    1. YES! Lol! I think he’s just phenomenal. I’m also really looking forward to Picard. Patrick Stewart is also one of my favorite actors so I’m crossing my fingers that this new Star Trek series is amazing.

You’re so welcome. Looking forward to your answers! ๐Ÿ™‚
