To Live Forever

Somewhere?
Not here.

It’s so dark.
The night sky…

I can’t see!
Blinded.

There’s no light
without the sun.

I wander.
I’m lost,

but I remember
I belong here.

This is my home
in the night.

I live here.
I thrive here.

Without insecurities.
And without enemies.

The only harm,
the only fear

I have that
I can’t see

is of the light
from the sun.

The burn.
The scorch.
The flames.
The inferno…

They swallow me,
envelope me.

Only now I
can’t be reborn.

I die
forever.
