In August, A Geeky Gal was nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award by Simon of Beyond the Infinite! You should absolutely spend some time reading Simons’s posts like his short stories. Thanks again Simon for the nomination. It’s very much appreciated! And I apologize for taking so long to do this. It’s been a busy time here on the blog.
The Rules:
- Display the Award Logo.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
- Answer the questions of the one who nominated you.
- Nominate 7-10 bloggers.
- Ask them seven questions.
Questions:
If you could make one wish, to help someone else out, what would it be? I would banish student loan debt or everyone. It would open up so many opportunities for other people to no longer have that financial burden.
What little known fact would you tell people about yourself? I always struggle with this question but I guess a little known fact would be that I am really into fitness. I started a weight loss journey in April of 2017 and since then I have switched to strength training, lifting, exercising to feel good, and eating in a way that makes me feel my best. I obviously fail sometimes but it’s a really fulfilling part of my life.
If you could meet any historical figure, who would it be? I’m not sure if this counts, but I wish I could have met Robin Williams. He really made my childhood better in so many ways.
Kindle or actual book, and why? Both have their pros and cons. It’s been awhile since I’ve actively read either. If I had to pick one, it’d be Kindle. It’s travel friendly, I can pick so many more books into it instead of stuffing my bag, and the screen is easy on my eyes no matter the light source I have.
Favourite super hero? Good question! Thor is probably my favorite with Captain Marvel as a close second.
Crumpets or Chocolate Cake? I haven’t had the pleasure of trying crumpets so I’ll have to go with chocolate cake.
Pink Floyd or The Who? Neither? I haven’t listen to either of these bands, but I do know who they are.
My Questions:
- What is the best advice someone has ever given you?
- Which fantasy world would you like to visit the most?
- What is the best thing that the internet has ever created?
- What lessons have you learned from video games?
- What book/movie/video game character do you secretly admire?
- What is your actual superpower?
- What weapon would you carry during the Zombie Apocalypse?
My Nominations:
Holley @ Chasing Destino
Keiko @ Keiko Anime Blog
Luna @ Galaxy Gaming
Jessica @ Chasing the Four Winds
Takuto @ Anime Cafe
Feel free to participate if you like whether you’ve been nominated or not! Let me know if you decided to answer my questions by linking back to this post so I can see your answers!

Aaah! Thanks for the nomination, I’m super flattered! And congrats on your weight loss journey- I used to weigh 187, and have managed to lose 47 lbs, so I know the struggle is real, but you’re doing a great job, and feeling healthier is totally worth it. Thank you again! Your blog is wonderful and inspires me to put more effort into mine!

I always feel best about myself after a good workout—not sure why I don’t do it more often. Good for you on that!
Thanks for tagging me! Not sure when I’ll get to it, but hopefully not too long. 🙂

Student loans certainly suck. I remember when I was in school the UK changed universities from free to paid. Nowadays many people regret getting a higher education, as a result. It’s not unusual to end up in a career that does not match your qualification, so in effect you end up with a big debt for nothing.

I agree. The internet has so much information that you can get certificates, teach yourself, etc. without going into a crazy amount of debt.
On the flip side, my degree has opened doors for me that would have otherwise been closed. Should I have gone to an online, for-profit college? No. I definitely could have gotten a more affordable degree, but unfortunately I didn’t know my options and was uneducated about it all.
