Just like last year for the month of October, I am pulling away from my regular 5 Fandom Friday and Saturday Suggestion posts. Every Friday for the month of October I will be presenting my 5 Freaky Faves in honor of Halloween! This week’s 5 Freaky Faves are 5 scary podcasts you should give a listen if you love horror, true crime, and serial killers!
Last Podcast On The Left
Serial Killers
Serial Killers is entertaining podcast full of research and psychological profiles focused on notorious serial killers that uploads every Monday. The hosts beautifully paint a picture of these killers childhoods and early lives before their crimes, what happened during and after the crimes, then dive into the psychology of it all. Perfect for those who love extensive research and psychology.
Tales
Vanessa of Serial Killers rides solo on Tales, a podcast featuring ancient fairy tales the way they were originally told. You won’t find Disney here. Tales takes us back to the Brother’s Grimm and beyond. Perfect for those who love story telling and fairy tales in their original form.
Paranormal Highways
Paranormal Highways is a paranormal podcast hosted by Mike who I met at Ghost Hunt Weekend in Tennessee when I stayed (overnight!) at a haunted hotel. His content is unique to any paranormal podcast I’ve listened to. He interviews mediums, haunted object collectors, ghost hunters, and more!
The NoSleep Podcast
If you couldn’t get enough of the popular nosleep subreddit, The NoSleep Podcast is for you. It’s a horror fiction podcast complete with talented voice acting, atmospheric music, and sound effects to bring scary tales to life. Perfect for fans of horror fiction and reddit’s nosleep forum.

Great list. I must check these all out. I don’t currently follow any horror podcasts, so I can’t recommend! Sorry.

I’m a huge podcast junkie and I’d heard most of these. Good choices! I’d also highly recommend Lore to your list for spooky and paranormal. It’s great! 🙂

Very happy to see this post, I’ve been struggling to find good ‘creepy” podcasts. I’m especially interested in the Parcast Serial Killers one, because I listen to a couple of their podcasts already. Thanks for this Megan!

I LOVE Last Podcast on the Left. I tried Serial Killers for awhile but they don’t always get the facts right and tend to dramatize stuff unnecessarily.

Yeah, it can be difficult to get the facts straight sometimes. I’ve noticed that there are differences between podcasts about the same subjects. Not often but it happens.
