Last week, A Geeky Gal was nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award by Ospreyshire! Ospreyshire is an amazing writer and poet. You should absolutely spend some time reading Ospreyshire’s poetry. It’s great. Thanks again Ospreyshire for the nomination. It’s very much appreciated! The questions below are super unique so I can’t wait to answer them!
The Rules:
- Display the Award Logo.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
- Answer the questions of the one who nominated you.
- Nominate 7-10 bloggers.
- Ask them seven questions.
Questions:
Who is your favorite poet? Currently, the title of my favorite poet goes to Perry Poetry. I first discovered them on Pinterest then found their instagram. I’ve found that I can relate to so many poems that make me recall my past and appreciate my present.
If you could make a musical movie, which artist or band’s music would you use and what would the plot look like? Easy question! Emilie Autumn and/or Voltaire would be the artist(s) for the musical. The musical’s plot would be something like a supernatural romance with a scary curse. Super non-specific I know, but maybe I will eventually write that novel!
Which country would you want to visit that you’ve never been to before? Japan! I would lovelovelove to go to Japan to see the temples, cafes and shops, eat all of the food and snacks, and experience everything Japan has to offer.
Which book would you like to see adapted as a movie or TV show? This can be a novel, novella, novelette, graphic novel, manga, or any form of literature. Horimiya is a sweet manga that my husband introduced me to. I haven’t caught up in forever but I would love to see it adapted to an anime.
What is your favorite instrument to hear in music? Definitely the piano. When I was in elementary school, my best friend played the piano, and I loved to listen to her play. It’s easily one of the prettiest ways to listen to music for me.
If you had the power to give an unknown or under-appreciated musician the ability to have one of their songs to be a #1 hit, what musician/singer/band would it be and what song would it be from them to temporally get rid of the typical mainstream Top 40 doldrums? Voltaire. He’s incredibly underrated and so freakin’ talented. Check out his YouTube channel for music videos and Gothic Homemaking DIY’s!
What is the worst case of protagonist centered morality you’ve seen in a movie, story, TV show, etc.? For those not familiar with the term, let me put it to you this way. What is something you’ve seen a heroic character do that was bad and would never get away with it if they were a villain? This is pretty topical (but possibly not exactly what the question meant) since my husband and I are watching (rewatching for me) InuYasha. If you are unfamiliar with the anime, there is a main character named Miroku who is always being lecherous. He asks any pretty woman he comes across to “bear his children” and even rubs more than a few bottoms. What really made my husband raise his eyebrows was when Miroku made a comment about a child being attractive. Sorry, Miroku; Even I can’t save your character from a statement like that.
My Questions:
- What are you currently binge watching?
- What quirks do you have?
- Have you ever been to a convention?
- What would you rate 10 / 10?
- When did you first realize you were a geek?
- What kind of art do you enjoy most?
- What city would you most like to live in?
My Nominations:
Jaycee @ Thinking Moon
Alyssa @ Nerd Side of Life
Emily @ Geek Gals
Trine @ Nerdy Treats
Ines @ Getting Your Geek On
Michelle @ Travel Her Story
Emily @ Monster Lady’s Diary

That was a great post, Megan. You were the first of all my nominees to make an award post. You have some great answers.
A Voltaire musical would be fun. Of course the big villain song would have to be the “Death Death Devil Devil Evil Evil Song”. Hahahaha! XD
Piano can be a good calming instrument. I took a piano class as an elective back when I was in college. Granted, I’m not awesome at keyboards, but I can make basic chords and I know where notes are.
Japan would be a great place to visit and I want to go there. Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Saitama would be top places I’d go to. The last city would be interesting because I have some Saitama Seibu Lions merch since that baseball team has Kimba the White Lion as their mascot since the 70s. Yes, the anime character who is the literal original Simba is a sports mascot, too. Haha!
The Miroku one is actually a great answer and you followed the question precisely. I get that he’s lecherous, but he definitely goes too far. I wasn’t even aware of that last quote. Even villains wouldn’t say that which definitely makes a case for protagonist centered morality.

I would pay good money to see just about anything described as a “Voltaire musical!”

Thanks for the nomination, never tried this one before. I was also nominated for another Sunshine but I think I’ll write about this one instead to keep things interesting for now. It’s tough to keep up sometimes!

I would love to visit Japan too. The distance and not understanding the language are the only things holding me back.
