Hello readers and fellow bloggers!
I want to first say THANK YOU! I feel so loved and supported after publishing my “taking a break” post. So many of you reached out over the comments on that post, via my social media DMs, and even text message. Your love and support means the world to me. I couldn’t ask for a better community to be a part of. Each and every one of you is amazing, and I can’t thank you enough for making me feel like I wasn’t alone in my struggles.
What I did on my break…
I wanted to take a moment to talk about what I’ve done during my mental health break in May. I expressed many of the personal things I was going through in my post including my fitness and healthy journey. I ended up cutting back how many times I was going to the gym, and am finding easier ways to meal prep. I created a motivation board for myself out of a bulletin board I thrifted so I could find healthy ways to track my progress.
As for my job, I have moved on to another project which was enough to give me renewed energy and get me back on track. I’m working on finding balance still and trying out different things to see what works. My personal life is getting better, too. My husband and I have found new ways to enjoy quality time together, and we’re focusing on other friendships in order to move on from a past one.
While I still very much miss my family, We’ve made plans to see each other in July and at Christmas so I have that to look forward to. Alec and I are also making plans to visit his family in Ireland in August of 2020. Fingers crossed that all goes to plan. We realized that we definitely need to make sure we make plans to see family even with the distance and cost involved.
The best thing about taking this break was how I was able to take a look at my hobbies and find (some of) them enjoyable again. I recorded a few YouTube videos of my Rule of Rose Let’s Play and actually enjoyed playing the game and the small bit of editing I had to do. I caught up on some of my shows and even enjoyed some new ones. My husband was finally able to get his own PC and join me on some of my campaigns with friends which renewed my passion for gaming just a little bit.
What’s next for the blog…
During my break, I sat down to write my goals for my blog. I wanted to go beyond just this year and my 2019 new year’s resolutions. I came up with a set of new goals for my blog, social media accounts, and YouTube channel. I wanted to set not only obtainable goals to keep myself from future burn out, but also reassess what I wanted to actually do with my little slice of the internet. Needless to say, the new goals were definitely needed.
I also reworked my posting schedule! As you all know, I started posting regularly to my YouTube channel, and my blog fell off in quality because of this. And then, when I tried to correct this, my YouTube posting consistency fell off track. I have come up with a flexible solution (I hope). See my new schedule below!
New Blog Schedule
Monday: short and sweet blog posts (500 words or less)
Wednesday: longer, detailed blog posts (500 words or more)
Friday: YouTube video reposts and summaries
With that being said, I may not post every Monday or Wednesday, but I am setting my personal goal to post at least twice a week, whether that is a long post, a short post, or a YouTube video repost.
YouTube Schedule
Monday/Wednesday: Let’s Play videos
Friday: Vlogs/Story Times/Interviews/Hauls/Look Books
I plan on posting to YouTube once a week; however, if I’m doing a Let’s Play, I will try to post it on Monday and Wednesday (and possibly Friday) until completion unless I have other priorities that week. My longer, more complicated videos will be posted on Friday.
Thanks for supporting me during my mental health break. I’m looking forward to my new and improved schedule here and on YouTube. It feels great to be back! Much love to all of you!

Welcome back hon! I’m not sure if I managed to get a comment out on your taking a break post or not – I remember starting to write one and then brain fog ceased me up so apologies if the actual words never quite got out ❤ I just wanted to let you know I have been thinking about you and it was lovely to hear that your break has been such a rejuvenating experience.
Cutting down on schedules can be such a daunting idea, but such an important one for our mental health too and I commend you for taking that step! It's something that I've been struggling with for a long time and your post is very inspiring.
I look forward to following your new adventures 🙂
