Interruption – Reprieve
Tears streaking my face,
I look at you.
Why are you so kind?
I wish I knew.
Wiping away my tears,
Please don’t…
You smile at me.
I can’t… Or I won’t.
You pull me close.
I think I can breathe.
Just hold me, for tonight?
You are such a relief.
You don’t let go.
I can’t stop crying.
When was I held like this last?
I thought the world was ending.
Maybe it’s just the beginning.
