If you’re participating in The Nerdy Girlie’s 5 Fandom Friday, you may have noticed a few of us have made some DLC’s to complement the already lengthy blog prompt list courtesy of The Nerdy Girlie and Super Space Chick. You can check out my first DLC for 5 Fandom Friday: the GG Pack (the Geeky Gal Pack)!
With Thanksgiving around the corner here in the US, my mind has been on Thanksgiving FOOD constantly. Hubby and I are taking a trip back to my hometown to share Thanksgiving with my family. He’s never had Thanksgiving before, and my mom and I are super excited to introduce him to our favorite classic Thanksgiving dishes.
Hashbrown Casserole
My mom makes the best hashbrown casserole. The recipe has been passed around through family members so I’m not even sure of the origin of the recipe! However, I did find it online! Check out Cincy Shopper’s Copycat Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole.
Green Bean Casserole
French’s classic green bean casserole is a staple at every Thanksgiving dinner (and probably my favorite!). It’s a super simple recipe that anyone can make. You can find it on the back of any French’s French Fried Onions can or on the Campbell’s website.
Pecan Pie
Another really easy staple for Thanksgiving! And easily one of my favorite desserts! (Be aware of those who may have a nut allergy at your gathering!) The Country Cook gives you an excellent recipe right here!
Cornbread Muffins
Cornbread muffins and dinner rolls get interchanged each holiday but I love them both equally. If you’re making dressing, you can easily whip up these muffins too! Once Upon a Chef gives us a simple recipe for these wonderful muffins to dip into that turkey gravy!
Roasted Turkey
What’s Thanksgiving without the turkey?! I can’t share our family recipe with you because we wing it (get it?) every year. I’m sure my dad has a reason for the way he does it. Anyway, Yellow Bliss Road can take care of you in the turkey department with her elegant recipe for the perfect bird.
What are your favorite seasonal foods? What are you most looking forward to about Thanksgiving? Tell me in the comments!
