After my big move to St. Louis from a little town in Alabama, I tried to fit in a few touristy things. The best part of doing touristy things has been the FOOD! St. Louis has so much to offer and so many great restaurants, from holes in the wall to famous establishments. If you’re ever in St. Louis, you gotta try these places.
Hendrick’s BBQ
This place has become my favorite restaurant to bring my out-of-town guests to. The vibe is industrial rustic with BBQ so good you’ll wanna slap ya momma! Eat inside, on the patio, or on the deck with live music on the weekends. It’s never overly busy, and the wait staff is always on their game. Chat them up to find out favorite menu items of their customers.
Recommendations: Smoked Brisket, Chicken Biscuit, Macaroni and Cheese, Green Beans, Lemonade, Tennessee Tart (alcoholic)
Fitz’s Restaurant
Known for their root beer, Fitz’s is a very popular eatery on The Loop in St. Louis. I recommend reservations if possible! We went on a Sunday, and it was so packed, but so worth it. Definitely the best root beer floats I’ve ever had!
Recommendations: B.L.A.S.T., Bison Burger with Sweet Potato Fries, The Trolley Root Beer Float, Cream Soda
Dave & Tony’s
I was taken here by a good friend to get a quick dinner before a night of DnD. The best chicken sandwich I’ve had in awhile. You’ll want to eat it as soon as possible! Build your own burger with a cheat sheet at the front of the restaurant or order from the traditional menu. I can’t wait to try the other burger combinations! And don’t skip the garlic herb fries. They are heaven.
Recommendations: Grilled Chicken, Pretzel Bun, Garlic Herb Fries, Fitz’s Root Beer
Favazza’s
The Hill has so many great restaurants. Favazza’s is a little on the fancy side but don’t think that you have to dress fancy to eat here! Eat on the patio and let the fireplace warm you under the stars or eat inside with good music and great vibes from the decor. You can’t leave St. Louis without trying some toasted ravioli, and if you stop in at Favazza’s you really should grab it as an appetizer!
Recommendations: Toasted Ravioli, House Salad, Filet Mignon, Salmon
